About five years ago I realised that 'my story' was just as important as my kid's or DH's 'story' so have been creating pages for my Book(s) of Me (BOM) ever since then.
In fact I have completed over 150 layouts all about me, about my pet peeves; my survival kit (handcream); my fave surfy shirt from the 70's; school photos (I have named almost 95% of my classmates from 1970-1982, no mean feat let me tell you), and even a layout about 'my sign' that I designed way back in 1981 as my logo (which I recently had made into a piece of garden art) and even a layout about my name found on street signs, plus a whole host of other topics.
Here is a link to an
album I have set up at Flickr of some of my BOM layouts. Please keep in mind that some of these layouts are over three years old so are very plain, even for my K.I.S.S style.
I am very excited to see that FiskarsCraft are getting in on the BOM thing too. Here's what they say...
This month, we'd really love you (and us) to think about adding to that 'Book of me'. We know that alot of you either
a) aren't keen on getting in photos
b) are always taking the photos so aren't in them
c) even if you're in the photos are too busy scrapping all the gorgeous kiddie ones you have.
So this month is all about YOU. Yep. YOU.
And if you don't have a 'Book of me' yet, then whats stopping you from starting? C'mon! We're gonna make it really easy for you.
We're going to be putting up prompts each day (maybe even more than once a day, so keep on your toes!), to help you along. We're even going to be designing pages and projects to go along with these prompts so you can get visually inspired too.
So what do you think? Do you want to join us on this journey? Delving into the deep, dark, mystery that is yourself? Yeah! We knew you would.
Stay tuned and we'll put our first prompt up shortly.
Trina
PS: The prompts we are using have been taken from either:
a) The Me Book by Autumn Leaves
b) Scrapbook Shortcuts by Simple Scrapbooks
c) Ourselves
So go
here NOW (and every day of April) to read the prompts. Even if you don't think you will get all the prompts scrapped, I hope you at least jot down the ideas to scrap at a later date. Have fun, oh and make sure you get in front of the camera more often.
