Real Life day 7

hmmm it has taken me all week to realise that my photos haven't actually been about Real Life, but just snapshots of things around me. Some of these "things" are living things but most haven't been. That is because the living things in my everyday life do not always cooperate when it comes to having their photo taken. So anyway this is my day 7 lot, such as they are...

School shoes, they are Kumfs and are the compulsory style for dress uniform at Alyse's school. They are size 42 from memory (one of the biggest sizes they come in) and almost $200 a pair. Just ridiculous but obviously it was our choice to send her to this school. The summer sandals are Kumfs too and not much cheaper and they are even uglier than these
but much better for growing feet than roman sandals.

Alyse is in Columba House (aka Green house) so I always pick up some St Patty's Day stuff from the $2shop for her to wear at House events. I like the rubbery bowler hat even though its a tad small, could do with some green feather boa or something similar. (Any suggestions?) The pom pom thing is a hit with the cat, she keeps rolling around in it. Alyse was in a very good mood today so has allowed this silly photo to be posted on my blog.

We don't go big on choccy stuff at Easter (probably eat too much every other day of the year), but I saw these cute choccy chicks and had to buy one each for the kids. I thought I would display them and make the kids wait until Easter Sunday before they were allowed to eat 'em. They walk past this bookcase several times a day and drool over them, but still I won't let them have them yet mean ay?! hehehe

Alyse has been on at me for ages to buy a pepper grinder, but I haven't found one I liked (at the right price) but when I went to buy white pepper this week I looked at the row of peppercorns and voila this beauty was staring back at me, so I popped it in my trolley. Alyse was over the moon when she unpacked the grocery bags and found it and wanted a pepper sandwich straight away!! Strange girl!

So that has been my Real Life for the last week, thank you for the challenge Vicky, please do this again later in the year and maybe I will get more people photos next time. Meanwhile I will continue with my 365 -random photo a day challenge

WARNING - I have been doing a LayOut-A-Day (LOAD) challenge with daily prompts from Lain Ehmann so will be bombarding my blog with all 28 layouts soon. May have to do that over several blog posts though. (the warning is so you can either come back soon and check out my layouts or so you can stay away for awhile so as not to be bored out of your mind LOL).

Real Life day 6

Well so much for me having my camera attached to my hand throughout the day, cos I didn't take any photos of my cake and coke, or of the grocery shopping/groceries, but I did get a photo of the MYOB stuff and some other random pics (taken on day 6 but only uploaded today)...

MYOB - ok my trainer, Heather and I have loaded it on to my laptop and have had a little look around the program, but it may be a bit too soon to get down to the nitty gritty just yet. I am enjoying learning a new job though.

This is my flannel lap quilt, a friend in the US sent me all the yummy country fabric yonks ago, and this is what I made! So simple to make see here for some free instructions. I have a whole tonne of flannel fabric that Mum gave me (she used to always sew Dad's work shirts with extra gussets under the arms so Dad had plenty of room to move around - he was a heavy machinery operator), I would love to use that fabric to make similar quilts for the kids for when they leave home, so comfy and cosy and you can just throw them in the washing machine then dry them in the dryer to fluff them up again.

Nordic - I love this range of furniture, our bedroom suite is all Nordic as is the mirror in the lounge. One day I want to buy a Nordic bookcase, coffee table, TV table and dining room suite. If we had a bigger house I would buy 2 Nordic desks (one for scrapping and one for the computer), office chairs and some end tables. Ahhhh dreams are free!

What is this? you ask, well I picked this up in Woodville at a junk shop some time ago. It's an old hot water 'bottle', made of a corrugated metal. Not one to snuggle up to of course, but one to fill with hot water and pop in the bed to warm it up, removing it before climbing under the covers. Please correct me if I am wrong but this is what I have been led to believe.

This huge wire heart is a Christmas gift from Mum. I fell in love with it in the shop and photographed it so I could give Mum an idea what to buy me. I didn't realise Mum had already bought my presents. She is always so generous. (the smaller heart if from Streets Ahead but is not part of the larger piece, they both hang from the same hook). I am on the look out for some Country cards to display in each of the circle clips, as well as some fave photos (hope to get those printed soon), I may even attempt some scrapbook tags or ATC's to display on here.

Real Life Day 5

oops I forgot to take photos yesterday, not even one small photo for my 365 photo-a-day album!! So I have just taken a couple of random photos and will begin posting them here as I rush around getting the housework done and my morning smoothie blended.

My scrapbook albums, a bit of a mess really, but these beauties (WER Memory Keeper 3-ring binder albums - love love love them - obviously I suppose or I wouldn't have so many), anyway these beauties contain well over 1200 layouts, with two albums on the bottom shelf waiting to be filled with layouts that are currently stored (standing upright) in pizza boxes.

One of three cordless phones, I spend hours and hours a week on this, mainly to family & girlfriends. We have caller ID which is brilliant, so I can be selective who I talk to. LOL.
I suppose that is the hermit side of me coming out
.

Jason and Sarah dropped in a bucket of tomatoes for Ross yesterday (RL day 5), as he is keen to cook up another brew of tomato sauce. I prefer the old chutney sauce that comes in a box, for which my DH and kids think I am crazy (said in my best Borat voice) as they rate the home brewed stuff 15 outta 10!

I hope to get some more RL photos taken today, must remember to have my camera in my handbag whilst I do the shopping, enjoy cake and coke with friends (they drink coffee I don't) and then I have some more training for my new job - hope to learn something about MYOB today. Plenty of things to take photos of.

Real Life day 4

Gee Vicky, I think this challenge is making the week fly by! LOL Just a couple of photos of my 'boys' today...TJ has been going to college for a couple of weeks now, and I have finally gotten a photo of him getting off the bus. Just after I snapped this shot, he realised I had a camera poking out of the car window towards him so he promptly turned around and walked off.
I let him walk home instead of giving him a ride, cheeky bugger!

Ross got new glasses today, he can't believe what he missed seeing with his old pair.
I remember when he got his first pair of glasses (on our 13th wedding anniversary - May 2005), while we were posing for a anniversary photo he looked at me and said "gee petal I didn't know you had so many wrinkles!!"
I gave him a wallop around the ear for that comment.

That's all for today folks.

Real Life Day 3

Today I wanted to share a couple of pet photos (unfortunately the chooks weren't cooperating for a photo), also a photo of the logo on the door of Ross' company ute, and a quilted wallhanging.

This is Molly formally known as Bla (short for black), my stepson Lance gave her to Alyse on her 5th birthday (almost 11years ago), she is a rather stand-offish cat but now and then she will get all smoochy and 'bunty' only to bite you a minute later.

I created this small wallhanging at a weekend Craft Retreat in about 2001, just before I started scrapbooking, alas all my fabrics lay in abandoned in suitcases in the garage!

Ross is lucky enough to have a company vehicle included in his employment package.
Forgive me for not even knowing what sort it is but I know he loves it and it was bought brand new last year!

These are our three babies, Ralf in the back (Ralf stands for Raewyn's Adorable Loving Friend), Pippi on the left (we inherited her from Mum & Dad) and Jackson who is the easiest of the three to train (eg shaking hands, doing high fives, sit, stay, down (lie down) etc.

Real Life Day 2

To answer the question from the last post - no Ross didn't/doesn't know I took the photo of him sleeping, let alone post it on my blog!LOL Here is he is doing another thing he enjoys (other than sleeping) ie having a Tui at the Bar (aka our Landing/deck) whilst watching the Home & Away omnibus! (don't tell his mates he enjoys this program)!

These are the colours Alyse has chosen for her room makeover, she has done a great job of the painting!

Jade and Shay-Anne hanging out with Aunty Alyse, what a gorgeous bunch NOT!!! hehehe

TJ was feeling cold so he wrapped up in a blanket, then I realised he was sitting in wet clothes after a water fight with Jade, sheesh boy go and get into dry clothes! LOL

Alyse has been busy waxing her dressing table today, the dear old guy down the road sanded it back (from a painted blue with flowers and bees) its going to come up beautiful (btw this was my dressing table when I was about 8yrs old)!!!

Shay-Anne is my 9yr old step-grandaughter and she is always wanting to help out Nana Whinney, (even with the yucky jobs), so today I got her busy making the choc chip mini pancake mix (a not so yucky job really esp when you get to spoon a heap of choc chips straight into your mouth)! I love the tongue poking out!

Proof is in the eating, and Shay-Anne loved the mini pancakes with maple syrup

Real Life Day 1

I have joined Vicky and some of her blog-watchers in her Real Life photo challenge, you will have to excuse my photos as I have only just taken them and it is almost 9pm!! At least you can see they are truly REAL LIFE with no false images (normally I would clean up the mess before photographing such things LOL).

only five eggs from the BumNutBrigade today, we think it is Beaky that isn't laying.

Ross has slept most of the afternoon and was early to bed. It has been too hot today
to do much plus the 5am starts (6 days a week) are very exhausting for him.

Shay-Anne & Jade (grandkids) are staying for the weekend and love
spending time with their uncle TJ in his messy room playing PS2 games.

Alyse has had to move her bedroom to the lounge whilst
she gives her bedroom a makeover.

Some of the folded washing, managed to do three loads of towels
and two loads of clothes today, great drying weather
Oh and I did take a photo earlier today, in fact a before and after of our bathroom floor. Yaaaay vinyl on the floor after 5 years or so of bare concrete.
